What does a Director of Administration do?

The Director of Administration is a full-time, permanent, professional and administrative position. The Director of Administration works within a culturally competent system of care and acknowledges and incorporates, at all levels, the importance of culture, the expansion of cultural knowledge, and the overall vision of Weechi-It-Te-Win Family Services.

The Director of Administration fosters cultural awareness through active participation in an inductive learning process, gaining understanding of historical trauma and impacts of oppression and how these relate to current issues related to Native child welfare services.  The Director of Administration develops culturally competent practice skills that are congruent to the unique needs of the ten First Nations and to Weechi-It-Te-Win Family Services.

The Director of Administration is responsible for the continuing development of the Community Care Program and for maintaining a continuing and effective liaison with each of the communities of the First Nations of the Fort Frances Tribal Area to ensure effective implementation of the Community Care Program within each community. The Director of Administration directs and supervises the staff of specific financial administration programs of Weechi-it-te-win.
