Rainy River Community Care Program
Family Services

Rainy River First Nations is located approximately 48 kilometres (½ hour) west of Fort Frances, Ontario on the northern banks of Rainy River.  There are approximately   members who live on and off reserve. 

The Rainy River Community Care Program provides Child Protection, Child Care and Family Counseling to its First Nation Members.  The Community Care Team is supervised by the Director of Family Services – Donna Mainville and consist of the following positions:

The CCP has the goal to enhance the family unit for members of the Rainy River First Nations.  The family services unit provides family support services, repatriation, outreach, access, mental health counseling and protection services.

The community care team of Rainy River First Nations collaborates with Weechi-it-te-win Family Services (WFS) through a consolidated service agreement.  This agreement devolves child welfare control and responsibility for the provision of family support and child welfare services to the Rainy River community, giving Rainy River First Nations the jurisdiction and responsibility for the full delivery of services.
